Tsugio D. Araki, 75, of Kealakekua, died June 30 at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Honaunau, he was a retired coffee farmer and service station attendant for Aloha Gas Co. and fourth dan black belt judo sensei.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. July 21 at Central Kona Union Church for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows. Family requests aloha attire be worn.
He is survived by son, David (Daniela) Araki, of Captain Cook; daughter, Susann Kolii, of Captain Cook; brothers, Tom Araki, of Honaunau, John Araki, of Oahu; sisters, Laura (Yoshi) Yano and Betsey (Robert) Ban, both of Captain Cook; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
